GSR Andrade participated once again in the 18th annual Canstruction event. For the first time, teams representing both Dallas and Fort Worth built their structures at the same time in the same venue. Twenty-five teams from Dallas and eleven teams from Fort Worth built their giant Can-Sculptures on Saturday, September 20th.
This year’s event is being hosted at The Science Place at Fair Park and will be available for viewing throughout the 24 days of The State Fair of Texas (September 26th – October 19th). The exhibit is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day.
A total of 159,213 cans were used in the creation of the structures. All cans will be donated to the North Texas and Tarrant Area Food Banks once the State Fair is over.
Each city’s structures were judged separately and will have the opportunity to compete in Canstruction’s International Competition.
Text-enabled and on-line options (powered by Tango Tab) are available for “voting”…with every dollar donated going directly to the Food Banks. The most votes for any one particular structure will determine the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
