Dallas Fire Station 58

Project Description

The new Fire Station 58 anchors the growing Cypress Waters development. The facility achieved LEED Silver certification for environmental design, integrating photovoltaic energy, water conservation strategies and environmentally responsive materials, sourced regionally.

An emphasis on connection to the surrounding community has shaped the design development process, with a community conference space connecting the fire station and a police department substation. The station’s design strives to highlight the adjacent neighborhood, provide a sense of arrival, offer a sustainable site, maximize connection to the outdoors, and allow ample natural light.

The facility includes four drive-thru apparatus bays, accommodates 15 firefighters per shift, and has a rated tornado storm shelter. A connected three-story training tower simulates fire-rescue scenarios and enables advanced training exercises.
