Mineral Well Public Plaza & Clocktower

At the heart of Arlington’s civic core, the Mineral Well Public Plaza brings a piece of the city’s history back to life. The 40-foot limestone tower stands as a landmark among the Library, City Hall, and surrounding buildings, a familiar point of arrival for the community.

Fissured stone paving guides visitors toward a shallow basin at the tower’s base, a nod to the historic Mineral Well once located nearby. Stone slabs and sculpted benches surround the plaza, giving people a place to sit while the sound of water fills the air.

Four sculptural lion heads reference the original historic fountain and give the plaza its civic character. Clocks chime on the hour. Accent lighting shifts with the seasons and special events, keeping the tower visible long after sundown. It is a straightforward reimagining of a former landmark, built to serve Arlington for years to come.
