This is a follow-up entry to my Tuesday, October 9th post.
The Annual Canstruction Awards Ceremony was held Tuesday evening at Iron Cactus in Downtown Dallas. The event was attended by members of each of the participating teams, as well as the competition’s Jurors, and sponsors.
Awards were presented for “Best Use of Labels”; “Structural Ingenuity”; “Best Meal”; “People’s Choice”; “Honorable Mention”; and the Best in Show – “Jurors’ Favorite”.
I am so pleased to announce that GSR Andrade’s iPhone-themed structure entitled, “‘Like’ to End Hunger” won the Best in Show award!
Canstruction Juror Eddie Abeyta included the following remarks when making the award announcement before the crowd: “….The whole essence of Canstruction is to build awareness about world hunger and to give back to those less fortunate….this group leveraged the idea of a technological device as the basis of their concept for spreading the word on hunger across the world…”
Congratulations to the entire Canstruction team! We are proud of you!!
