Team GSRA participated (again) in the 6th Annual “Furniture 4 Kids” event held Thursday, October 25th at Zouk Dallas. Using this year’s theme of “rock the box”, GSRA converted a plain, wooden toy box into a child’s dream of a giant working boom-box.
The coined event – ‘Furniture 4 Kids’ – was created by OFS Brands, a manufacturer of commercial furniture, who have a strong desire to create a cause to help children. OFS Brands brought Furniture 4 Kids to the DFW metroplex in 2006, partnering with presenting sponsor G.L. Seaman & Company, along with the Dallas Mavs Foundation to host Furniture 4 Kids. Since 2006, F4K has successfully raised over $80,000 that has directly supported and provided for the needy children of Dallas / Fort Worth.
Creative organizations register and participate in competitions and charity drives to aid in creating one-of-a-kind design donations and collecting new toys for needy children this holiday season. Design submissions are auctioned off the night of the event, with bidders having the option of ‘Bid-To-Keep’ or ‘Bid-To-Donate’ to a Ronald McDonald House of Dallas / Fort Worth. This is a fabulous way to raise funds for the Mavs Foundation AND to support Ronald McDonald House, who cares for families of critically ill children.
Participants and attendees, of the event, include designers, architects, creative organizations, a variety of manufacturers who provide products to the architecture & design community, and related industry organizations from the Commercial Real Estate and Construction companies.
