GSR Andrade was recently honored at the AIA National Convention in New Orleans, when our project, JCPenney Store #0179 – Timber Creek Crossing was awarded an Energy Star Certificate of Achievement by the U.S. EPA and was featured as part of the Energy Star Challenge display.
All JCPenney stores are currently designed for the highest energy savings possible. The store at Timber Creek Crossing uses continuous R-25 insulation in the roof, while perimeter walls are concrete tilt-wall panels with R-25.5 spray foam insulation. Occupancy sensors control the lighting in the offices, corridor, stock, receiving dock, and restrooms; and an energy management system controls lighting schedules and air conditioning schedules at set points. The facility is also equipped with high-efficiency, Energy Star washers and dryers; Energy Star-rated refrigerators; and high-efficiency, Energy Star gas water heaters in the Salon area. Additionally, LED lighting is used throughout the store, sales floor, signage, and jewelry cases.
