Project Description
This significant renovation on Whitley Hall’s main first floor seeks to create a welcoming and exciting ‘front door’ for residents, bringing a level of sophistication to the historic building. Renovation areas included the lounge, billiards game room, E- Game room, lobby, study/collaboration room, kitchen, laundry, and offices.
Significant retrofit modifications include the following:
- The large open lounge has a fireplace installed encased in marble panels, along with all columns being refinished in marble. Multiple seating areas are defined by varied furniture.
- The interactive E-game room is refinished and furnished for team video gaming with acoustical paneling and comfortable furniture, along with large high-definition LED technology.
- The kitchen has new appliances and millwork and is furnished with commercial-grade venting exhaust system. The building’s historic features have been enhanced with significant aesthetic improvements throughout to strengthen the facility connection to the A&M- Commerce campus, most notably at the elevator lobby wall.
- Expanded security and connectivity access.
- Upgrades of restrooms, with colorful new tiled finishes, millwork and toilet accessories.
